Crowne Plaza Queenstown has announced a new appointment to its business development team, with primary responsibility for promoting the resort's conference and incentive business.

Crowne Plaza Queenstown has announced a new appointment to its business development team, with primary responsibility for promoting the resort’s conference and incentive business.

Giana Mendes will take on the role of sales and marketing effective October 13, supporting business development manager Julie Jolley. 

Originally from Brazil, Mendes has five years’ marketing, sales, tourism and hospitality experience gained during a career spanning New Zealand and the Americas.

She has a Bachelor Degree in Social Communication majoring in Marketing & Advertising and brand marketing experience at Nestlé.

Crowne Plaza Queenstown general manager, Brett Wilson, said he was looking forward to welcoming Mendes on board.

“Giana is a dynamic, driven and upbeat professional who will fit well into the team and help us continue to build our strong reputation and the Crowne Plaza Queenstown brand. She’s going to be a real asset to the hotel, particularly in light of her knowledge of the Queenstown market and her five-star approach to exceeding customer expectations,” he said.

Crowne Plaza is located opposite Steamer Wharf and enjoys spectacular views over Lake Wakatipu and the mountains, providing a dramatic setting for MICE events in Queenstown.
