Sunshine Coast celebrates 30 years of Mabo

Coinciding with National Reconciliation Week, the annual AIATSIS Summit welcomed over 1,000 delegates and 300 speakers, with 70 percent of attendees indigenous.

Coinciding with National Reconciliation Week, the annual Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) Summit was held at the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort, 30 May – 3 June.

The summit commemorates 30 years since the 1992 Mabo decision and welcomed over 1,000 delegates and 300 speakers with 70 percent of attendees indigenous.

Supported by the Business Events Sunshine Coast Assistance Program the theme of the summit is Navigating the spaces in between – foregrounding the brilliance and value of Indigenous ways of knowing, seeing and being in the world.
