A new cellar door and event space has opened in Brisbane’s CBD, just in time as Queensland’s restrictions on gatherings ease.
From the team behind Fortitude Valley venue City Winery, Edward Street Cellar Door brings the same urban cellar door experience right into the heart of the city.
The venue offers wine tastings and experiences, and can also be hired exclusively for groups of up to 65 people.
Spice News was the first to learn about this new venue back in May, when City Winery co-founder and managing director Adam Penberthy joined us for the Spice Spotlight Sessions.
In our studio interview, Penberthy said COVID-19 has given the business time to look for growth opportunities.
“We’re treating this as an opportunity to look for growth and hopefully, all going to plan, by Christmas this year we’ll have maybe another two, possible three micro or larger scale venues,” he said.
“One that I can say, and Spice will be the first to know, we’ll be launching an Edward Street pop-up cellar door.
“As the corporates start to come back to the Brisbane market, we’ll have a 150-square-metre function space and cellar door for customers to be able to try our wines and embark on in-venue experiences.”
A number of wine experiences are on offer to customers and groups at the new venue, including wine and cheese pairing, blending workshops and wine tasting flights.
