School leavers will be able to explore their career options this weekend at a brand new virtual expo by The Cool Career, in partnership with AV24/7 and Business Chicks.
More than 3,500 female school leavers have already registered for CAREERCON, which will be delivered on 11-12 September through AV24/7’s virtual events platform.
Event curator Kura Antonello said the class of 2020 are in need of extra guidance on their career opportunities, following the disruptions caused by COVID-19.
“We’re really excited about taking the careers expo online for the first time – we’re seeing a huge take-up in registrations from young people in need of inspiration and hope,” she said.
“For years we’ve been working with schools by taking career conversations right to the students – we wanted to make sure that we could still help girls in 2020 and ensure they didn’t feel that 2020 was a lost year.”
The two-day live streamed event includes presentations, panel discussions and masterclasses with speakers including Melissa Leong (MasterChef Australia), Michelle Mathews (Medibank), Cait Miers (photographer) and Libbie Ray (AV 24/7).
AV24/7 will stream the career expo from its Sydney control room, providing integrated audience interaction, production management and speaker management through virtual green rooms.
AV24/7 co-owner and general manager Libbie Ray is a strong supporter of programs that support and inspire young women.
“We’ve been helping lots of companies deliver virtual and hybrid events,” she said.
“When the opportunity arose to deliver our services to this important initiative, we grabbed it with both hands.”
