A not-for-profit group in Sydney is offering a unique team-building or incentive activity in the form of cooking classes led by some of Australia’s leading Italian chefs.
The Council of Italian Restaurants in Australia (CIRA) cooking school series, which kicked off on June 13, comprises a series of demonstration and hands-on classes showcasing signature dishes and cooking methods from Italy’s best-known foodie regions.
CIRA is offering regionally themed Italian cooking
classes in Sydney throughout the winter months
They include tonight’s (Jun 23) class on Neapolitan Classics by Mario Percuoco of Intermezzo; Lucio’s Ligurian Kitchen by Luci Galletto of Lucios on Saturday (Jul 28); and a Hands-on Pizza class by George Pompei of Pompei’s Gelateria and Pizzeria on August 24, among others.
CIRA president Armando Percuoco said the council was committed to educating Australians about the huge variety of Italian cuisine on offer in Italian restaurants.
“More than cappuccino, pizza and pasta, regional Italian cuisine is so varied and so exciting to learn about,” he said.
“And what better way than by joining classes hosted by some of the best practicing Italian-Australian chefs who really know how to showcase their regions.”
CIRA charges $75 for demonstration classes or $115 for hands-on classes with sit-down meals, with discounts available to members.
