Tiger Airways has upped the ante in Australia’s airfare war, with the Melbourne-based carrier offering airfares across the country from just $30 each way.

“Tiger Airways is thrilled to give Australians more reasons to travel, more often and at our amazing low fares,” said Tiger Airways managing director, Shelley Roberts.
“This amazing promotion will provide a welcome boost to the Australian tourism industry and will give Australians across the country the opportunity for an affordable short break.
“For just $30 including the taxes and charges – Australians can now choose to fly on any of Tiger Airways’ current 16 domestic routes.
“This is likely to be one of our most popular promotions so far and these seats are sure sell out very fast, especially on our longer routes, so customers should book early to avoid disappointment,” she said.
On sale until tomorrow (Apr 15), the airfares are available for travel between May 1-31, 2009 and come just a week after the airline announced Melbourne-Sydney flights, which commence on July 3, 2009.
