Delegates after dark

Experience Cairns after dark. From rooftop cocktails to hidden laneway bars, eclectic night markets, sumptuous food and live music — unwind and explore the city’s vibrant nightlife.

As the sun sets over the mountains, Cairns’ nightlife awakens, and we want delegates to take advantage of the compact, easy to navigate city and explore our destination after dark!

Kick-off at 4pm with retail therapy after the day’s conferencing at the Cairn’s Night Markets – and don’t worry – you can browse the bustling stalls seven days a week until midnight. Purchases in hand, grab an ice cream and stroll the colourfully lit Cairns Esplanade.

Getting lost is difficult, but you might stumble across hidden laneway gems like Three Wolves and Wolf Lane Distillery, where you’ll discover locally distilled gin infused with exotic Davidson Plum, tropical whisky, and agave to rival a Mexican tequila!

However, if it’s tequila you seek, tempt your tastebuds and satiate your competitive streak at Mexicairns. Challenge a colleague to augmented darts, shuffleboard, ten-pin bowling or table tennis over a frozen margarita – there are six flavours to choose from!

Those seeking panoramic views, a warm, tropical breeze and the flair of our city’s mixologists can head to rooftop cocktail bar, Rocco or the waterfront garden at Salt House. Soak up the vibrancy of the Esplanade at Whisky & Wine or go kitch at Flamingo’s Tiki Bar.

Sophisticated palates can head to the Conservatory wine bar and select a little something from the 800-strong wine list before burning off the day’s energy with live music at Bar36 or the Pier Bar.

And if there’s still energy to burn – Cairns has you covered with late-night dancing at the Woolshed and Gilligan’s.

But if you really want to slide into the authentic tropical north Queensland vibe, bunk in at Hemingway’s Brewery or one of the city’s quintessential pubs – remembering, up north, it’s a schooner – not a pot, and a pint is acceptable any time of the day.
