InterContinental welcomes its sixth Australian hotel with the opening of InterContinental Perth City Centre.

InterContinental welcomes its sixth Australian hotel with the opening of InterContinental Perth City Centre.

The new 16 storey, 240-room property was designed by designed by Woods Bagot, with interiors by Chada.

Specially commissioned sculptures, paintings, bespoke ceramics and glass works by renowned WA artists feature throughout the hotel, and expanding on the ‘local’ theme, all of the menus feature local food, wine and beer producers.

The hotel’s Club InterContinental guests have exclusive access to the top floor, a space that offers an a la carte breakfast, all day refreshments, high tea service in the afternoon and canapés and drinks from sunset.

Dining spaces include food-truck concept eatery Graffiti where coffee and snacks are served from a street art styled roller door, Heno & Rey, a slick reinterpretation of a tapas bar spilling on to Hay and King Streets, and The Loft Lounge on the hotel’s first floor for early morning pastries, high tea service and cocktails.

Ascua, the hotel’s ground floor restaurant, will be a new take on the classic grill. Spanish for ’ember’, Ascua will have an open kitchen showcasing the preparation of aged beef and meats, and will open on November 1st.

Club InterContinental

All of the hotel’s meeting spaces have access to The Chef’s Pantry, a central lounge that is stocked with refreshments for use at any time during functions. A spacious outdoor terrace complete with a bar, BBQ and cooking station provides an al fresco hospitality option for event planners. In an unusual twist, there is a display kitchen in the largest meeting suite that can be used for live culinary demonstrations during events.

The hotel is in close proximity to His Majesty’s Theatre (home to the WA Opera and WA Ballet), high-end retailers like Chanel and Kailis Pearls, the CBD, parks and Swan River ferry options at Elizabeth Quay.
