Two new faces to promote Rotorua as a top destination

Rotorua has two new faces on board for the destination with the appointment of a new operations manager at Energy Events Centre and a news sales manager for Events & Venues Rotorua.

Rotorua has two new faces on board for the destination with the appointment of a new operations manager at Energy Events Centre and a news sales manager for Events & Venues Rotorua.

Hayley Bilton joined Events & Venues, a business unit of the Rotorua District Council recently to assist conference and incentive clients with their venue selections when choosing between the Rotorua Energy Events Centre, the Rotorua Convention Centre, Rotorua International Stadium or any of the other three venues Events & Venues directly manage.

Hayley Bilton has joined Events & Venues Rotorua as sales manager.

Bilton will be hosting venue famils for potential clients planning for the likes of a conference, meeting, gala dinner, trade exhibition or corporate launch to being on hand during the actual function to ensure everything goes to plan.

As a native of Rotorua, Bilton was keen to return home. Knowing and loving the city, and being aware of what’s on offer in Rotorua, enables her to employ that destinational knowledge as a sales tool.

“Hayley brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position,” said sales and marketing manager Brett Jeffery.

“With her ‘can-do’ attitude and strong relationship building skills, I’m confident she has a bright future in the E & V team.”

Additionally, new operations manager at Rotorua’s Energy Events Centre, Joelene Elliott began her role on September 13 this year.

“I love Rotorua and I love what we are about as an industry. This is another great opportunity for me because, while the complex already leads the way as a nationally (and internationally) recognised venue, there’s still huge potential to make a difference and contribute to growing our business,” she said.

The Energy Events Centre team has played host to some huge functions in the ensuing three and a half years. With the capacity to host 5650 guests for cocktails and 4000 theatre-style, the centre delivered professional venue and event management services from the very first conference of 1000 delegates (Learning at Schools) in February that year through to the likes of the international Tourism Rendezvous New Zealand (TRENZ) tradeshow that they have hosted twice.
