Australia’s leading live entertainment and sports ticketing company, Ticketek, has seen a significant shift in consumer behavior with increasing numbers of customers browsing and buying tickets via Ticketek’s Mobile site.

Ticket buyers are going mobile with the launch of Tiketek’s mobile site

“We are seeing a strong shift toward mobile, it is fast becoming the centre of our customer’s digital world. In just four weeks since Ticketek launched its m-site, over 15% of our online traffic came from mobile browsing. Importantly, customers are not just browsing, they are buying. 10% of ticket sales for the Foo Fighters 2011 summer tour were sold via mobile. This exceeded our most bullish forecasts.” said Ticketek Australia’s managing director, Cameron Hoy.

“This is a great platform for fans of live sport and entertainment. They can browse and purchase tickets to their favourite events whenever and wherever they are. It’s a box office in your pocket.” said Hoy.

The Mobile site was developed in-house and is part of Ticketek’s on-going commitment to developing innovative products and market leading technology.

“We are committed to providing our venue clients and customers the most advanced and comprehensive sales and distribution platform in our market. Our m-site complements our existing channels of website, call centre and agency network (in partnership with Westfield), and is a great example of our industry leadership” said Hoy.

Ticketek will shortly be deploying an Australian first mobile ticket delivery product that will complete its end to end mobile platform.
