“With the country’s global vision to become a world leader in innovation, education and research, our challenge is to encourage some of Qatar’s leading scientists, medical experts, and industry specialists to bid for the rights to host a future international association convention to Doha,” Hocking said of the opportunity to position Qatar as one of the leading convention and meetings destinations in the Middle East.
“Working closely with members of the Qatar Foundation, major corporations and trade associations, it is our primary focus to assist these industry specialists in winning the right to host these prestigious events in Doha. That is my passion, it truly is a rewarding experience.”
QNCC general manager, Paul D’Arcy, who recently returned from Europe promoting the QNCC’s opening in 2011, said he was delighted with Hocking’s appointment.
“Ours is a very long term business, with some of the world’s most prestigious international associations searching for future locations and venues for 2013 and beyond,” he said. “It is essential to have a team of highly skilled professionals, such as Sue, join our rapidly expanding team.”
