Long-time industry mentor Brien Trippas has been elected as the new President of Restaurant & Catering Australia, the national association that leads and represents the interests of restaurants and catering businesses in Australia.
Brien Trippas, recently named president of Restauarant & Catering Australia
Trippas had previously held the position of Treasurer, as well as President of Restaurant & Catering (R&C) New South Wales from 2004 to 2009
Recently inducted to the John K Walker Hall of Fame at the Savour Australia Awards for his contribution to the industry, Trippas is looking forward to leading the Association through continued growth and change.
“Over the last 12 months R&C has become more streamlined, taking on responsibility for some of the services previously met by the various State Associations” said Trippas
“This simplified structure increases the specialized assistance we can offer to all our members, and we look forward to extending increased benefits as part of Association membership” he said.
Just two of R&C’s many functions are to keep members, Governments and regulators abreast of the current state of the industry through the sharing of detailed research, and – to encourage Australian dining consumers to eat out more often!
R&C is the peak body for approximately 7,200 restaurants and caterers, representing 70 per cent of overall industry turnover.
