PSAV to acquire Encore Event Technologies

PSAV has entered into a purchase agreement with The Freeman Company to acquire the event tech giant.

Event production and technology company PSAV has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire Encore Event Technologies, which is currently owned by brand experience group The Freeman Company.

Expected to be finalised this year, the deal sees PSAV expand its presence throughout North America and Asia Pacific, where Encore operates as both an in-house partner to more than 460 hotels and conference centres, as well as a creative production company for clients.

PSAV CEO Mike McIlwain said Encore is an “ideal partner” for PSAV, due to their shared commitment to meeting and event planners.

“I am excited about what this means for PSAV, and more importantly our customers, as we continue to focus on more ways to create amazing event experiences wherever an event is held,” he said.

The Freeman Company chief development officer Ken Sanders said it had been an honour to lead Encore and witness its growth.

“I want to thank everyone at Encore for applying their work, skills, dedication and creativity to build this world-class company, and I look forward to watching their continued prosperity as part of PSAV,” he said.

In 2015, The Freeman Company acquired Australian-based production company Staging Connections, which later renamed and became part of the larger Encore Event Technologies brand in 2018, as reported by Spice News.
