Bangkok-based The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has appointed former British journalist DH Lawrence, to the position of director of corporate communications.
Lawrence has a wealth of travel industry experience and is a former head of corporate communications in Europe for Lufthansa.
His previous experience in the region includes Cambodia where, as general manager for Thai PR agency Presko, he acted as media advisor to former Co-Prime Minister, Norodom Ranariddh. He also spent two years in Taiwan directing a global image program for trade development agency CETRA.

“I’m delighted to join my new colleagues in the Bangkok office and I am excited about the opportunity to bolster and extend PATA’s important advocacy program,” Lawrence said.

Outgoing PATA president and CEO, Peter de Jong, said he was certain Lawrence was the right person to assist his successor in continuing the messaging PATA creates on behalf of Asia Pacific travel and tourism.
