Paula Leishman, founder and managing director of Tasmania conference and event managers, Leishman Associates, was announced the 2012 Telstra Business Women’s Awards Tasmanian Winner in the Commonwealth Bank Business Owner category.

Further adding to their triumphs for 2012, Leishman Associates have opened a Melbourne office to complement their Hobart base, seeing their team now boast at a total of 17 staff.

Paula established the business in Hobart 18 years ago as an independent event consultant, and six years later in 2000 took the plunge to employ staff to assist with growing number of conferences and events on their calendar, which now stands at between 25-30 events annually both held in Australia
and overseas.

“A large part of the recent growth and consequent success of Leishman Associates has been from the diversification of the business to include Association Management,” she said.

“The Association Management arm of our business compliments the conference and event management we do, and this is a real area of growth and focus for us in the coming years”, she said.

Leishman Associates have gone from strength to strength to cement their position as a leader within the conference and events industry, and Leishman paid particular thanks to their clients for being part of the Leishman Associates journey; especially the long-standing clients, some who have been working with the organisation for over 12 years.

Leishman said she was honored to receive the award, and also acknowledged and thanked her team.
