Did you know that you can take a guided tour of the Opera Centre’s production workshops and rehearsal studios?
Staging an opera involves hoards of highly talented people from all kinds of disciplines – milliners, wig makers, cobblers, costumiers, designers, carpenters, model makers, scenic artists, choreographers, repertoire and language coaches, stage hands, stage managers, directors, musicians and conductors, not to mention the singers.
Groups can see these experts in action every weekday at 10am and 2pm in the general tours or an exclusive tour can be arranged for private groups of up to 40 people.
Bookings are essential and at least two weeks’ notice is required, so that we can allocate an experienced guide. Full details, including price, here.
Participants must have a good level of fitness for this walking tour. It includes many stairs and there are no passenger elevators.
The Opera Centre is located at 480 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills NSW.
