CWT Meetings & Events announced that it is continuing to reinforce its team to manage and support the strong growth of its business.

“We are seeing a lot of activity in the industry at the moment: expansion but also consolidation within the market as companies look for a one-stop-shop solution that incorporates everything from event strategy to sourcing and logistical support”, said Floyd Widener, global senior vice president CWT Meetings & Events.

“The beginning of the year has been very healthy for our business and we expect to see strong market growth for the first quarter 2013 on a global level. We have further strengthened our team to drive even greater value for our clients.”

Pauline Houston has been appointed director global supplier management for hotels and meetings and events. She will drive greater alignment in the approach to suppliers for both business travel and meetings and events clients. Houston has worked for CWT since 2009 and was previously head of CWT Meetings & Events for the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Patrick Lukan has joined CWT Meetings & Events as senior director global operations to support the global strategy and delivery of operations for meetings and events. Through a global approach to service delivery and operations, CWT Meetings & Events will provide clients with detailed international reporting that gives a global, organisation-wide view of their meetings and events spend. Before joining CWT, Lukan worked over the past 20 years in various technology and service delivery roles in the travel and technology industries including American Airlines, Sabre and Travelport.

CWT Meetings & Events organised meetings and events around the world for one million delegates and grew by 10% globally in 2012.

CWT Meetings & Events has an international reach of 1,600 event specialists extending across 75 countries worldwide and delivers over 35,000 events each year for its customers – industries ranging from pharmaceutical and healthcare, to technology, financial services, telecommunications, energy, automotive and government.
