Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC) has taken out the ninth spot in the Global Eventex Awards’ annual Top 100 Event Agencies and Organizers.
The awards celebrate the most innovative, creative, and effective events and companies from around the world, with the annual ranking representing consistent excellence in the business events industry over the last three years, based on the number of Eventex awards won during that period.
This year, NTMEC won seven Eventex Awards – six for Parrtjima – A Festival in Light, and one for BASSINTHEGRASS Music Festival. This came off the back of winning Best Regional Event and Best Achievement in Marketing or Communications awards at the 2021 Australian Event Awards.
The company is also a finalist for numerous accolades in the 2022 Australian Event Awards, for Parrtjima – A Festival in Light, Darwin Triple Crown Supercars Indigenous Round, BASSINTHEGRASS and Million Dollar Fish Season 7.
NTMEC head of events and operations, Coryn Huddy, said the team was absolutely thrilled to be included in Eventex’s Top 100 for 2022, especially as the only Australian company in the top 10.
“The team at NTMEC is passionate about what they do, and to be recognised on an international playing field alongside some of the world’s leading events companies and agencies is incredible,” Huddy said.
“We’re a small team, but we definitely punch above our weight when it comes to delivering world-class events in Northern Australia.”
We’d like to acknowledge all those who have helped make our events so successful, including our many contractors and suppliers and, of course, our event attendees.”
Huddy said the team is now gearing up for a big 2023, with planning for Parrtjima – A Festival in Light, BASSINTHEGRASS, the Darwin Triple Crown and Red CentreNATS currently full steam ahead.
“Aside from our delivered events, we’re also proud to manage an Event Funding Program that last year supported around 70 events and festivals, to help drive tourism from the Top End right down to the Red Centre.”
The next round of the NTMEC Event Funding Program will open in early 2023.
“If you’ve ever been considering a trip to the Northern Territory, 2023 is the time to do it! Combined with our world-class events, amazing tourism experiences and endless summer, the Territory truly has something for everyone.”
Since their launch in 2009, the Global Eventex Awards have received more than 2,000 entries from over 85 countries.
Entropico and City of Greater Dandenong were the other two Australian contestants to earn a spot in this year’s coveted top 100 Eventex Index, while WINK Creative Experiential Agency from the Netherlands took out first place, followed by Triumph Group International from Italy in second place.
