How Sydney’s Create Catering has adapted to social distancing restrictions to continue serving its customers.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted business across every industry and sector, but arguably none more so than hospitality and events. Strict social distancing requirements have meant venues, foodservice businesses and event catering operators can no longer serve their customers the way have been for decades.

But necessity is the mother of invention and across the hospitality and corporate events sector nimble operators have turned their attention to develop new and creative ways to pivot their operations so they can continue to service their customers. At Create Catering, we have pivoted our core business of end to end managing of large corporate events at Sydney’s most iconic venues to now serve our customers at home.

We are doing this through a range of tactics including corporate gourmet breakfast, lunch and charcuterie hampers delivered to work-from-home teams, and fine dining home delivery with our five-star chef-prepared meals for customers who are looking for something more than what the local delivery apps can offer. We even have a take-home-chef service ready to launch once restrictions are lightened, where one of our gourmet chefs visits a customer’s home and cooks a high-class meal in their kitchen.

With light at the end of the tunnel, and our government turning their attention to a COVID-19 exit strategy and a gradual relaxing of social distancing restrictions, now is the time to start thinking about what your end-of-year functions may look like this year.
