Next Story Group will debut a new upper midscale hotel brand, LinQ Hotels, in Melbourne this year.

The group has acquired a new-build hotel at City Road in Southbank, where LinQ Hotel Melbourne Southbank will welcome guests from 1 November.

The hotel will feature 162 rooms and will cater to both leisure and corporate travellers, given its close proximity to Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and Crown Entertainment Complex.

Next Hotels & Groups CEO Darren Edmonstone said the new hotel will enjoy a superb location.

“We are excited about the opening of the LinQ Hotel in Melbourne which is famous for its year-round calendar of social, sporting, arts and cultural events,” he said.

“Coupled with the unique value proposition of our LinQ Hotels brand, we are confident that our new property will be able to deliver strong trading performance.”

LinQ Hotel Melbourne Southbank will complement the group’s other properties in Melbourne, which are Sage Hotel Melbourne, Ringwood and Next Hotel Melbourne that will open 2020.
