Great Ocean Road Resort has appointed Dana Broekhuizen in the newly created role of Business Development Manager – Business Events for the property, alongside the newly opened Sunnymead Hotel in Aireys Inlet.
Broekhuizen steps into the role after finishing up her role with Business Events Geelong and Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism, where she facilitated the Victorian State Government’s Regional Recovery Support Fund supporting the local region. She brings with her over a decade of experience in managing events and incentives both domestically and internationally. In her new role, Dana is responsible for creating and developing new business for the portfolio.
The Great Ocean Road Resort property is complemented by Anglesea Riverside Motel nearby, as well as Sunnymead Hotel in Aireys Inlet, which joined the group in December. An additional meeting space is being added to the collection in the near future.
Also joining the team recently as the new Executive Chef is Adam Cooke. Cooke brings 12 years of experience working across fine dining, resort and hotel restaurants abroad and his home country in the UK. Cooke will manage the conference food and beverage offerings, including evolving the existing Indigenous-inspired dishes and offering the option to tailor bespoke menus for events.
