BESydney has appointed Rahul Shah as Director for North America to lead the organisation’s presence across the US and Canada to maximise global meeting opportunities in both the Association and Corporate/Incentive markets.
Based in Toronto, Mr Shah has more than 20 years’ experience in the North American business events industry, having represented convention centres and several international hotel brands.
Beginning his role this month, Mr Shah has spent the last 11 years in a sales role at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, responsible for targeting international conventions for more than 2000 people.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the BESydney team and building on Sydney’s strong profile in the North American market,” he said.
“Sydney is the leading APAC destination for business events, showcasing Australia’s unmatched industry sector offerings.”
BESydney has recently rebranded, unveiling a new logo, website and content refresh in a move it describes as “coming of age.”
BESydney CEO, Lyn Lewis-Smith, said the change in identity reflects how business events have shifted, with new business models, new ways of working, connecting and gathering.
