IHG takes Voco brand to South East Asia

Voco Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 will feature 300 rooms and meeting facilities to accommodate up to 400 guests.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced a new-build Voco hotel for Bangkok, Thailand, less than a year since the voco brand was launched.

Set to open in 2021, Voco Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 will feature 300 rooms and meeting facilities to accommodate up to 400 guests.

The property will be located in the heart of Bangkok’s lively Sukhumvit area, with food and entertainment options right at guests’ doorstep.

Clarence Tan, managing director, South East Asia and Korea at IHG said Bangkok is an ideal launch market for one of the newest brands in the portfolio.

“This signing continues the accelerated growth of the Voco brand since we launched it last June,” he said.

“We are excited to expand the presence of this compelling brand across the region, bringing its upscale offerings to more travellers who seek a reliably different guest experience, brought to life through a bold, distinctive identity, informal service style and thoughtful touches along the guest journey.”

The property will feature an all-day-dining venue, a rooftop restaurant and bar, swimming pool, pool bar and fitness centre.

The on-site conferencing facilities will cater for up to 400 guests, with the largest meeting room able to hold 200 guests.

The signing follows the recent opening of the first Voco in the world, Voco Gold Coast, which opened in November 2018.
