Experiential agency GPJ Australia recently delivered the signature event for the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) 2019, titled ‘WAnderlust: A Journey of Extraordinary Sensations’.
The agency worked with Tourism Western Australia to produce the event, with a brief to showcase the beauty and diversity of Western Australia.
An exclusive function for 1200 guests, WAnderlust was held at Roe Gardens of Kings Park, overlooking Perth city.
The event was a sensory experience, enabling guests to see, hear, taste, smell and touch the wonders of WA.
Guests enjoyed a menu curated by chef Stephen Watson of Heyder & Shears Exclusive Caterers featuring pearl meat and West Australian rock lobster, paired with wines from WA’s Margaret River region.
Phil Walley Stack performed a memorable Welcome to Country in front of the Perth cityscape, with local school children incorporated in the performance.
Throughout the evening guests were able to take part in live pearl harvests with Willie Creek Pearls and create a custom botanical perfume with West Australian native florals.
GPJ regional manager of Western Australia Natalie Pronin said it was an “extraordinary experience” to work with Tourism WA for the event.
“Our combined vision was truly spectacular and will no doubt leave a lasting impression on all of those who attended,” she said.
ATE is Australia’s largest annual travel and tourism business-to-business event, which attracted more than 2000 of industry professionals over four days.
