Abode Hotels will today open the doors to its newest hotel, located in Canberra’s northern town centre and business district.
Abode Belconnen, part of Iconic Hotels by Geocon, features 152 self-contained, apartment-style rooms, each with their own kitchen and laundry facilities, free and unlimited Wi-Fi and streaming capability.
For corporate teams, Abode Belconnen also offers a small boardroom, for up to 20 people, with loads of natural light and AV capabilities.
The significance of opening a new hotel at a time when many others have closed their doors, is not lost on Iconic Hotels general manager Rien Donkin.
“The entire travel industry has faced extreme and unforeseen challenges this year, and the travel landscape as we knew it has changed dramatically,” he said.
“Abode Hotels’ ability to push forward with today’s opening is a testament to the brand’s strength and agility, established guest loyalty and commitment from the wider Iconic Hotels team, and I couldn’t be more delighted to be celebrating the opening of Abode Belconnen today.”
Part of the mixed-use Republic precinct, the hotel is surrounded by shops, gardens and dining outlets, including Canberra’s second No.10 Restaurant + Bar, also owned and operated by Iconic Hotels.
As part of the precinct, Abode Belconnen grants guests access to a shared onsite pool, gym and recreational area.
