Jose Carrera and The Queensland Orchestra will appear together for one night only at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Feb 6 and have given the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland the opportunity to be the beneficiary of the event.
Jose Carreras will perform Feb 6 in Brisbane
In 1987, at the height of his success, Carreras was diagnosed with acute leukaemia and was given a one in 10 chance of survival. Fortunately he recovered and was able to continue with his career, and went on to preside over the Jose Carreras International Leukaemia Foundation.
“Jose Carreras’ commitment to leukaemia research across the globe is inspirational and offers hope to the 20 Australians who are diagnosed every day with leukaemia or related blood disorders,” said The Queensland Orchestra CEO, Patrick Pickett.
“He has reminded us here at The Queensland Orchestra how vitally important it is to support organisations such as the Leukaemia Foundation, to ensure the ongoing health and wellbeing of our community.”
The Queensland Orchestra has set aside 500 A Reserve seats at the Jose Carreras performance. For every seat sold, from within this allocation by January 31, 2009, 10 per cent of the ticket price will be donated to the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland.
Double A reserve tickets will be awarded to the first SpiceNews reader to respond to this email address. Only registered subscribers will be eligible to win.
Patrons interested in attending the event in support of this worthy pursuit are asked to quote ‘Leukaemia Foundation’ when calling Ticketek on 132 849 to purchase A Reserve tickets.
