Staging Connections group managing director, Tony Chamberlain is once again participating in the St Vincent de Paul Society’s Vinnies 2010 CEO Sleepout. Last year this initiative raised over $620,000 in Sydney alone.
This year as homelessness escalates with many young families becoming homeless, the goal is to raise in excess of $1 million.

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout initiative goes a long way towards breaking down the misconceptions of homelessness by showing that it is a genuine societal problem. There are officially more than 105,000 Australians who are homeless, including 7,500 families. However, these figures are widely regarded as having increased significantly since they were gathered in the 2006 Census, as a result of the global financial crisis.
More than 12,000 Australian children under the age of 12 have no home and a further 22,000 young people aged 12 to 18 are homeless, and most of them are estranged from their families.
On Thursday 17 June 2010, in what is now a national initiative, Chamberlain will pack his sleeping bag and beanie and once again join a number of Sydney based CEOs at Luna Park, to take part in Vinnies 2010 CEO Sleepout. At the same time CEOs across Australia will be experiencing a cold night with little bedding and very basic food.
All the money raised by the Vinnies 2010 CEO Sleepout goes directly to homelessness services including night patrol/soup van services, hostels for men, family services, refuges for women and their children escaping domestic violence, mental health services, and education and recreation facilities offering life skills courses, training and access to medical, legal and financial advice.
Staging Connections is a national partner of the Vinnies CEO Sleepout and is supporting the St Vincent de Paul Society with pre-event marketing services such as webstreaming and event staging at the sleepouts across the country.
Staging Connections’ employees are also supporting Tony Chamberlain and the Vinnies CEO Sleepout by holding a range of fundraising activities in each branch office to co-incide with the CEO Sleepout on 17 June 2010.
