The Red Bull Beat Suite, a musical cultural experience which took place in Melbourne last weekend saw the nation’s best beat makers, the hottest young orchestral talent and guest vocalist Aloe Blacc and Ladi6 together on stage under the direction of composer Tamil Rogeon.
The two-show event took place at the Melbourne Recital Centre and was streamed live via the web.
The Red Bull Beat Suite saw a mix of vocalists, Dj’s and the Australian Youth Orchestra team up for a unique musical experience.
Aloe Blacc, Ladi6, Galapagoose, Amin Payne, Daltron, DJ Perplex and Scratch 22 mixed it up with the Australian Youth Orchestra, who were all hand picked by Kano Hollamby, creative director and music coordinator for the project.
The event, a orchestral exploration of the last 20 years of electronic and beat music, combined two diverse musical worlds and set a musical precedent as told by the world’s most cutting edge musicians and vocalists through a ‘mix tape’ of orchestra, turntables and live beats.
Added to the experience was Melbourne’s own and world-renown multi-media gurus ENESS, who created a complementing visual display of 3D projection mapping technologies.
The sold out crowds – and the global audience watching, enjoyed the beats and projection canvasses that hung high above the stage.
