Announced last Wednesday night, (29 Feb) Windows By Design, presented by Peroni and Harper’s BAZAAR, will transform Melbourne’s top fashion windows into a showcase of design and art.
‘Windows by Design’ was launched at an event hosted by Peroni, at which Harper’s BAZAAR editor Edwina McCann also announced the winner of the 2011 Peroni Young Designer Award: Daniela-Stephanie Puglisi.
‘Windows by Design’ was launched at an event hosted by Peroni, at Melbourne’s ALTO.
Melbourne’s fashion industry turned to mark the official launch with a cocktail party at ALTO in the prestigious GPO Building.
A total of 12 retailers, including David Jones, Gorman, Scanlan & Theodore and Euroluce, have offered their prime space for these spectacular installations, which will be on-show throughout March. Partnered with a designer, artist or collector, each unique window has been curated by Alex Zabotto-Bentley and inspired by Nastro Azzurro, (Italian for Blue Ribbon.)
Official beer of L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, Peroni proudly promotes Australian fashion and design. The brand has successfully taken its involvement beyond the festival and into the streets with ‘Windows By Design.’

“Peroni has long had an affiliation with style and we are constantly looking for new ways to support fashion, design and emerging talent,” said Richard Oppy, group marketing manager International Beers at Carlton United Brewers.
A series of events in surrounding bars, known as Peroni Pitt Stops, will ensure there is a hub of activity around each participating retailer.
Winner of the third Peroni Young Designer Award Daniela-Stephanie Puglisi took home $10,000 in prize money and a beautiful Antonio Berardi Vligia bag valued at $2,125. Puglisi now promises to be a one to watch. Previous winners of the Award include Johnny Schembri, runner up in Project Runway Australia 2011 and creator of the By Johnny women’s label.
