Myer showcased its new Spring Summer 2010-11 collection last Thursday (5 August), in a seaside-inspired event at Sydney’s Carriageworks with support from Russian Standard Vodka and Maker’s Mark.
The collection focuses on the three major trends for warmer weather – Cosmetic Bloom, New Nautical and Modern Military.
Russian Standard Vodka brand ambassador Oliver Stuart
Guests were thrilled to see Russian Standard Vodka and Maker’s Mark supporting the collection launch for the second year in a row with delicious nautilus inspired cocktails, which featured in the show’s after party.
Fusing fashion with flavour, the premium cocktails on offer included a summery Pomegranate Sour featuring Russian Standard Platinum Vodka, and a beachy orange and pineapple Sand Castle Coconut made with Maker’s Mark bourbon, ladled over ice from a punch bowl and garnished with lemon and orange chunks.
Bar staff entertained guests by hand-chipping chunks of ice from ice sculptures to create a Maker’s Mark orange and vanilla Signature Serve and a Russian Standard Platinum Vodka Signature Serve with fresh blood orange and ruby red grapefruit.
More than 60 models, including Myer ambassadors Jennifer Hawkins, Kris Smith and Jessica Hart, showcased the three new trends, with great ensembles from designers such as Leona Edmiston, Wayne Cooper, Yeojin Bae and Sydney’s Jayson Brunsdon.
Among the guests included numerous celebrity faces such as Guy Sebastian
Among the 550 guests on the night were Myer Racing Ambassador Rebecca Twigley, Ruby Rose, Guy Sebastian, Charlotte Dawson, George Houvardas, Hugh Sheridan, Zoe Ventoura, Jessica McNamee, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, April Rose Pengilly, Rachel Finch, Sami Lukis, Ed Phillips, Jaynie Seal, Tom Williams, Wendell Sailor, Axle Whitehead, and Myer’s ‘fashion family’ including leading designers Matthew Eager, Nicola Finetti, Jayson Brunsdon, Aurelio Costarella, Karen Walker, Kate Sylvester, Yeojin Bae and new addition Kim Ellery.
