The 2010 Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) Opening Night returned to the opulent Regent Theatre this year for a night of red carpet glamour and Australian film.
In Richard Moore’s last year as director of the festival before he goes to work for BIFF (Brisbane’s equivalent), he made sure it was going to be a good one and of ‘Cannes Calibre’. He expressed his delight that the Opening Night could once again be at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre. The theatre undoubtedly suited the occasion, given MIFF’s standing as Australia’s most important film festival.
