No cost was spared on Monday night (September 22) when the Macau Government Tourist Office invited more than 200 key travel industry partners and representatives to Watersedge at Sydney’s Walsh Bay for a journey to ‘Another Dimension – MACAU’.
Guests were treated to spectacular entertainment, from cocktail and fire twirling barmen, to serenading singers, to plate throwing chefs and acrobats, to an amazing laser show.
Themed ‘Experience Macau – A world of difference, the difference is Macau,’ the event was hosted by the Macau Government Tourist Office’s Australian representative, Helen Wong.
“Everything experienced tonight is all about Macau,” Wong said, reporting that some 27 million visited the region in 2007, of which 120,000 were Australians.
“With so much to do, travellers can look forward to enjoying the famous Greyhound rally, golf, horseracing, grand prix, arts and music festivals and the view from the Macau Tower, which is 338 metres high. Infrastructure is changing at a fast pace including the new Ferry Terminal, Light Rapid Transit system and the New Science Centre moving the city into another dimension,“ she said.
The major sponsors of the evening, Viva Macau, Grand Emperor Hotel, Sofitel, Wynn Resorts, The Venetian and Mandarin Oriental Hotel, donated airline and accommodation prizes for a lucky draw at the end of the evening.
