Hilton Sydney’s iconic Marble Bar invited the city’s music loving scene to grab their guitars, pull out the drum sticks, dust off the microphone and warm up the vocal cords with the launch of ‘Discovered at Marble’, a social media based campaign where the bar is scouting to discover Sydney’s next up-and-coming live music act.
Hilton Sydney invited special guests to the iconic Marble Bar for the media launch of Discovered at Marble Bar.
Hosted by MTV’s resident rock chick, Kate Peck and ‘Discovered at Marble’s’ esteemed panel of judges which includes representatives from Rolling Stone, MTV, Entertainment Marketing Group and Marble Bar’s Friday night resident band – Brown Sugar Entertainment.
Sponsors and guests were treated to an intimate afternoon filled with bucket loads of Coronas and casual chit chat highlighting the importance of live music in Sydney and how campaigns such as ‘Discovered at Marble’ aims to help keep the city’s buzzing scene alive by discovering the undiscovered!
As the afternoon rocked on and the Corona’s started flowing the conversation swung to the good, the hilarious and ‘what tha’ Marble Bar memories. Guests were heard reminiscing about Dizzee Rascal and Eve jumping on the Marble bar stage at one of MTV’s VIP after parties to Xzibit and LMFAO shuffling – it was clear that everyone has at least one ‘Marble Bar’ memory.
Marble Bar being one of Sydney’s most iconic live music haunts is an advocate for supporting the live music community.
Tucked underneath the hotel, Marble Bar is one of the only bars in the city that isn’t affected by current regulations and legislations and isn’t constrained by noise restrictions.
By launching ‘Discovered at Marble’ Hilton Sydney aims to further highlight the importance of live music and supporting the local community. Marble Bar aims to keep the scene alive through campaigns such as ‘Discovered at Marble’ which is just the start; throughout 2013 the bar is aiming to support live music through a program of showcasing local undiscovered talent.
Steeped in rich history Marble Bar is one of Sydney’s oldest and most historic landmarks. Built in 1893 behind The Lord Nelson Pub and Kirribilli House Marble Bar has survived the test of time as one of Sydney’s most lively music hubs. In its 120 extraordinary years Marble Bar’s stage has, played host to acts who have gone on to perform on The Voice and become international stars including UK songstress Duffy. Marble Bar’s stage has played host to an eclectic mix of local and international stars including LMFAO, Cold Chisel, Wycleaf Jean, Eric Bonet, Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters, Eve, The Veronicas, Slash and Liza Minnelli – to name a few.

The winning act will win a priceless two month residency valued at $10,000!
