From Australia Day Weekend, January 22-23, Victoria’s Wimmera region will again kick-off the annual Great Western Races, a country event experience unlike any other.
Located two and a half hours drive north-west of Melbourne in Victoria’s Great Western region, and situated at the foothills of the Grampians, the annual Great Western Races will begin with the Seppelt’s Great Western Cup Eve Dinner. Held at the historic Seppelt’s Winery, guests are treated to a three-course dinner with a selection of the winery’s finest, live entertainment, and a tour of the ‘Drives’, the only labyrinth of underground wine cellars in the Southern Hemisphere.

On Saturday, the Seppelt Salinger Great Western Cup Day will offer thoroughbred racing, Seppelt wines and food stalls, live music, whip cracking and boot scooting, Stawell Amcal Pharmacy Fashions on the Field, Camp Australia Kids’ Activities as well as the ‘Classic Aussie RockShow’ featuring legendary Aussie rocker John “Swanee” Swan and original singer and co-founder of AC/DC – Dave Evans.
