More than 200 gentlemen and 250 ladies will gather tonight (Mar 20) at Centennial Parklands Dining to raising funds for The McGrath Foundation at the 2009 Sydney Gentleman’s Ball.
Founded in 2006, The Sydney Gents Ball Association was the brainchild of six university mates – each of whom aim to invite 10 male friends, who each in turn bring a female partner.
Big smiles were on the menu at the 2008 Gentleman’s Ball
“We wanted a way for everyone to catch-up once a year for a good time, but also for a good cause,” said committee chairman, Geoff O’Hare. “The aim of the ball each year is therefore twofold. It’s an opportunity for people to get together and invite a partner to a classy event and most importantly all proceeds from the ball go to the nominated charity, which changes every year.”
Guests at tonight’s event will enjoy the stunning views of sunset over Centennial Park before sitting down to enjoy a specially tailored menu designed by Centennial Parklands Dining head chef Darren Foots. They’ll also be entertained by electronic dance outfit Art vs. Science.
“Securing such a fantastic venue and amazing entertainment has been a great coup,” O’hare said. “Plus, the association relies on the support and generosity of various third party sponsors and donors to make the ball such a success – so with such terrific support this year, it’s going to be amazing.”
