G.H. Mumm pulled out all stops in showcasing the best of France this year as the Official Champagne of the 2013 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Now in the fourth year of their sponsorship, and confirmed for another 5 years, the G.H. Mumm La Maison marquee featured a Moulin Rouge performance by 16 dancers straight from the stages of Paris.
Canapés were created by Mark Best of Marque and Pei Modern, the upper terrace featured a seated area for guests to experience a tasting of the G.H. Mumm range hosted by 2013 G.H. Mumm Marquee Ambassador Pia Miller and guests were given the chance to be involved in sabrage, a 200 year old French tradition invented by Napoleon’s cavalry. Sabrage is where the cork is ‘sliced’ from the bottle with one clean strike of a sabre providing a spectacular stream of champagne once the bottle is opened.
