In an Australian first, craft beer aficionados will be able to enjoy an incredible selection of local and international brews from one of Sydney’s most iconic locations, with the Zoo Brew Festival making its highly anticipated debut at Taronga Centre from 21-‐23 July 2017.
Zoo Brew will proudly showcase over 20 breweries and provide a taste of some of the world’s top craft beers and ciders. Confirmed already as part of the brewing line up are BentSpoke Brewing Co. offering a taste of one of Canberra’s top microbreweries, Monteith’s Brewing Company, recognised leader of New Zealand’s craft beer and cider market, and Balter Brewing Company, famous for its tropical and fruity XPA and hailing from the sunny shores of the Gold Coast.
Other brewery favourites joining the schedule include Young Henry’s, Scharer’s Little Brewery, Beer Farm, Two Birds Brewery, Lord Nelson, Stone & Wood, Nomad, Hargreave’s Hill, The Australian Brewery, Australian Beer Co and Matilda Bay.
“We’re so excited to bring a unique event like the Zoo Brew Festival to Sydney. Festivalgoers will be able to taste the delights of some of Australia’s most recognised breweries, some undiscovered gems, and top gourmet food favourites that we have gathered in one truly amazing location. Where else could you stand on a beautiful terrace and enjoy a cold beer while overlooking Sydney Harbour, the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and of course Taronga Zoo?” says Patrick Maher, Taronga Centre’s General Manager and festival director.
The three-‐day festival will officially launch with a beer degustation dinner on Friday 21 July, followed by two festival sessions each day on Saturday 22 July – Sunday 23 July.
“It’s wonderful to be a part of a festival celebrating high quality brews in Sydney -‐ we know Sydneysiders appreciate a good ale! We’re looking forward to bringing people together to enjoy good beer, and hopefully teach them a thing or two about our brews,” says David Ward, The Australian Brewery’s Marketing Manager.
Tickets to all events are now on sale with festival entry priced at $40 per person and the beer degustation dinner $150 per person.
Limited designated driver tickets, including parking, will also be available for $20 each. A portion of proceeds will support Taronga Conservation Society Australia’s wildlife conservation activities.
Zoo Brew is the first in a series of Taronga Centre’s ‘Taste the Wild’ events, which focus on sustainable and ethical sourcing of quality products.
In an effort to minimise waste, a re-‐usable glass tasting cup and recyclable tasting tickets will be provided to all guests, and food packaging will be recyclable.
Event partners for the Zoo Brew Festival with Taronga Centre are craft beer favourites Royal Albert Hotel and Dave’s Brewery Tours.
