On Saturday 5th of May the annual Cure For Life Ball charity fundraiser was held at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, with a full house of almost 1000 guests.

In its 10th year, the event was hosted by neurosurgeon Charlie Teo, who is taking the lead on curing brain cancer.

The Cure For Life Foundation hoped to raise over $750, 000 on the night, at the gala event with an enchanting Cinderella theme. The room was glowing with purple, the foundation’s iconic colour.

The Cinderella theme saw the events decor in silver, black, white and purple, the foundation’s siganture colour.

There was a silent auction with a variety of great items to be won from Jeff Fatt’s shirt (the purple Wiggle) to Torah Bright’s snowboard, as well as live auctions for holidays in Phuket, Bali, North America and a visit to the birth place of Cinderella!

A highlight of the event was the Prince Charming slipper prize. Guests received a unique shoe for a $100 donation. Former Wallaby and survivor of brain cancer Julian Huxley was Prince Charming for the evening and had a matching shoe for one lucky guest. The winner received a custom fitted Collette Dinnigan designer dress and a date with Julian.

Star Grazers Catering, sibling company to Bayleaf Catering and Mondo Bartenders kept nearly 1,000 guests fed

The event’s master of ceremonies was the charismatic Vince Sorrenti, with live performances by Gregg Arthur & The Velvet Set, Leo Sayer and Dragon. An incredible performance by Soul Mystique as seen on Australia’s Got Talent and the stilt walking ‘Cinderellas’ were also a huge hit.

Specialists in premium large event catering, Bayleaf served a delicious menu, the Osso Bucco Milanese with white polenta, pine mushrooms, gremolata, beans & pancetta with garlic toast was exceptional. There was a number ‘10’ hand written in chocolate on all 1000 desserts! A colourful and dynamic variety of guests including Steve Waugh and NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell.

Mondo Bartenders served an arrival cocktail called ‘The Glass Slipper’, a sweet mix of gin, pressed mint and rose, with fresh lemon, topped with champagne. Star Grazers Catering cared for the event performers, their guests and crew. The generous and hard working volunteers for the foundation were also well looked after with meals, tea, espresso coffee and the renowned bottomless cookie jar, by Star Grazers who specialise in backstage and touring catering.
