Sense Event Group delivered a ‘White Christmas’ for the McGrath Foundation’s Gala Dinner last December at the Hordern Pavillion at Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter.
Sydney’s Hordern Pavillion was transformed into a winter wonderland with a fairy light canopy of snow for the McGrath Foundation’s Gala Dinner.
The event was held to thank supporters and friends of the Foundation and raise funds to continue the deployment of breast care nurses around Australia and educate young woman to become more breast aware.
The theme ‘Dreaming of a White Christmas’ was chosen as a reference to Jane McGrath’s heritage as a young girl growing up in England.
‘We wanted to give guests a feeling of what it’s like to experience a white Christmas, just like Jane and Tracy were used to when they were young’ says Anthony Halprin, executive producer.
The event stage in ‘White Christmas’ theme.
The venue was transformed into a snow filled village with unique life size LED light sculptures including trees and snowflakes positioned around the room and from the ceiling. A fairly light canopy was raised above the audience with snow machines in place making sure everyone danced under the falling snow.
Guests included (left to right) Kirk Pengilly of INXS fame, Layne Beachley, Glen McGrath and Kylea Tink
The evening was hosted by Karl Stefanovic with performances from singing sensation Mark Vincent, Carly Champion and the 50 piece Endeavour Choir who sang carols as people entered the room. Armondo Hurley and his band finished the night off in style keeping the dance floor full well into the night.
The event was a great success for the Foundation raising close to $300k on the night.
