The Australian Ballet will take stage at qualia — Hamilton Island’s luxury resort — for an exclusive outdoor performance of ‘Wa’ choreographed by Tim Harbour.

The performance is open to guests who book the weekend of October 31 to November 2. It will be the centerpiece of a weekend event titled ‘Pearls and Pointe in Paradise’ — a collaboration between the Australian Ballet, qualia and Paspaley Pearls.

“We believe Wa has a special synergy with the sensory feel of qualia as it depicts the harmony achieved when a community treats one another and their environment with sensitivity,” said Australian Ballet artistic director, David McAllister.

Paspaley’s head of design, Jurgen Kammler, will also fly in for the weekend to host an exclusive showing of the Paspaley family’s private pearl collection. Kammler will take guests behind the scenes of the design and creation of one of the company’s most exquisite pieces of jewelry.

Following the performance, qualia’s chefs will prepare a moonlight dinner by the pool at Pebble Beach, allowing guest to indulge in cuisine matched with a selection of boutique wines. They will also have the opportunity to meet David McAllister and the dancers, as well as emcee Sarah Murdoch.

Included in the luxury weekend is two nights accommodation, all food and non-alcoholic beverages, use of an electric golf buggy, return Hamilton Island Airport/Marina transfers and use of non-motorised watercraft. qualia also offers a unique luxury incentive option with its one-bedroom pavilions, some with private plunge pools.
