18 PCOs, incentive specialists and corporate representatives spent three days getting to know Alice Springs in order to drive group bookings into the destination.
The four day famil programme was a joint initiative of the Alice Springs Convention Centre and the Northern Territory Convention Bureau (NTCB).
The delegates engaged in a bit of traditional Akubra tossing
The Northern Territory Government Minister for Tourism, the Honourable Matt Conlan MLA, opened proceedings at a Business Events Forum, followed by local experts such as Lyndon Frearson from CAT Projects and Sarah Browne from The Purple House, who spoke to the group about cutting edge solar technologies and outstanding indigenous community health care initiatives that are in play in the region.
The Stampeders learnt a thing or two about horsemanship
Participants were also treated to an early morning meeting atop Anzac Hill with Damien Ryan, the Mayor of Alice Springs, and went on a bike ride to Alice Springs Telegraph Station, where they then participated in a mini ‘Henley-on-Todd Regatta’.
All Alice Stampede participants stayed in the new room 66 premium wing of Lasseters Hotel Casino, where a brand new restaurant to be called Tali is nearing completion.
