The Australian Hotel Association (AHA) is this week holding its national convention and award night at Sydney’s Darling Harbour, led by master of ceremonies David Fordham.
The two-day event tails the Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) and the inaugural HEXCO conference for accommodation property managers, creating synergies via delegate crossover.
“The dynamic nature of our industry means that all hoteliers need to keep up to date on industry trends,” said AHA national president, Tom McGuire. “The AHA National Convention provides an enjoyable way to enhance your knowledge and learn from hoteliers from all parts of Australia.”
The conference comprises of two days of business sessions held at Star City Ballrooms 2 and 3, with lectures covering topics like environmental sustainability and technology for pubs.
Leisure activities include a tour of Sydney pubs, a Sydney Harbour Bridge City Lights Climb and yesterday’s opening night ceremony, held at Luna Park. Tickets for Phantom of the Opera and The Rocky Horror Show were also organised for delegates.
The event will conclude with the 2008 AHA National Awards for Excellence held in the grand ballroom at Star City tomorrow (August 28). Tickets are $190.
The event was organised by CCM Travel.
