Women in Tourism announces International Women’s Day events

Women in Tourism will host its fifth Sydney lunch and first Melbourne lunch this year.

If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate International Women’s Day this year, Women in Tourism have announced two events just for you.

Women in Tourism officially launched on International Women’s Day in 2015, when 40 members attended a lunch at Nel Restaurant in Sydney.

Since then, the group has hosted almost 20 events and has grown an active Facebook community with more than 1300 members.

In 2019, Women in Tourism will host its fifth annual International Women’s Day Sydney lunch and their first for Melbourne. Both events will include a two-course lunch, and a series of guest panellists to speak on industry topics.

Here are all the details:

Sydney

The Sydney lunch will feature three panellists: Kim Mahaffy, Pier One general manager and Marriott Australia Women in Leadership program lead; Genevieve Taubman, managing director and co-founder of Mint Partners; and Brenda Miley, founder and director of Let’s Go Surfing. Together they will discuss the topic of “celebrating leaders and what drives them”.

Melbourne

The Melbourne lunch will welcome Karen Bolinger, CEO of Melbourne Convention Bureau; Elizabeth Aitken, partner and employment lawyer at Moray & Agnew Law; and Natalie Simmons, global general manager at Cievents, for a panel focusing on working together to create a positive work environment for change.
