A total of 38 gongs were handed out, with The Star Sydney winning “Conference and Events Venue of the Year”, with Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park being highly commended in the same category.
Tegan Skyllas, from Rydges Sydney Central, won “Conference and Events Talent of the Year”, with Roberto Carrillo from Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour highly commended.
Rydges Resort Hunter Valley took out “Regional Superior Hotel of the Year”, with Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley highly commended.
Spicers Sangoma Retreat, in the NSW Blue Mountains, won “Regional Deluxe Hotel of the Year”, with Capella Sydney winning “Metropolitan Deluxe Hotel of the Year”.
Hilton Sydney prevailed in the “Metropolitan Superior Hotel of the Year” category.
“Accommodation is a crucial sector of the visitor economy, providing visitors with a home away from home,” says NSW Minister for Jobs and Tourism John Graham.
“NSW wouldn’t have a $50 billion visitor economy without the efforts of the sector, particularly those who received awards.
“All the winners are demonstrating the excellence that enables continued growth, and I congratulate them on behalf of the NSW Government.”
Destination NSW sponsored the “Regional Deluxe Hotel of the Year” and “Regional Superior Hotel of the Year” categories.
“A huge congratulations to the teams at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley and Spicers Sangoma Retreat, as well as all the other winners and finalists,” says Destination NSW CEO Steve Cox.
“I know the judges were spoilt for choice when picking winners of this year’s awards.

The Awards for Excellence were held by Accommodation Australia NSW, the peak body for accommodation and hospitality providers in the state.
The 2024 awards celebrated a record-breaking 354 finalists across 38 categories.
