Tourism Australia’s Managing Director Andrew McEvoy says the nation’s popularity as a tourist destination continues to grow, particularly out of Asian markets.
Speaking exclusively to SPICENEWS on camera at AIME in Melbourne recently, McEvoy said solid numbers had come from China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore during 2011.
He said a number of upcoming events, including the 2013 British and Irish Lions rugby tour of Australia, were adding positivity to inbound tourism while domestic and traditional markets remained flat.
