EXCLUSIVE BY JAMES WILKINSON
New hotels, refurbished properties and a brand repositioning is helping Sheraton recapture its place as the leading upper-upscale accommodation label in Asia-Pacific.
Speaking exclusively to SpiceNews on camera, Starwood’s Regional Vice President for the Pacific, Sean Hunt said new the Sheraton hotels in Melbourne and New Caledonia, along with refurbished properties in Fiji and the Gold Coast, were helping the brand recapture its stature in the market which it held in Australia during the 1980s and 1990s.
Hunt also said Starwood’s Luxury Collection brand was expected to debut in Australia in the not-too-distant future, while the company’s select-service brand Aloft was another development priority for the global chain.
