A new FJD$2 million maternity ward is being constructed at the hospital and last Saturday (Nov 30), the Coral Coast Chapter of the Fiji Islands Hotel and Tourism Association (FIHTA) helped raise $60,000 towards the build at its annual golf day.
The Sigatoka District Hospital Charity Golf Day was held at the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course and the strong turnout from Hoteliers and leading suppliers from across Fiji ensured another large check will be presented to the hospital.
Leading the golf day was Outrigger on the Lagoon General Manager and FIHTA Coral Coast Chapter Chairman Peter Hopgood, who told SPICENEWS on camera after the tournament the $60,000 is edging closer to the target of $100,000 each year.
In the video, Hopgood spoke about the success of the day and how the Coral Coast hotels are doing what they can to raise as much funds as possible for the hospital.
