V Australia’s first flight took off for Los Angeles from Sydney at 3:00pm on Friday (Feb 27) and to celebrate the milestone, Virgin Blue Group held a stellar launch party for 800 people on Sydney’s Cockatoo Island the night before.
Over 800 guests danced the night away to exclusive performances by The Potbelleez and Evermore, while a charity auction at the launch raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for victims of the recent Victorian bushfires.
Host for the event, Virgin Group chairman, Sir Richard Branson, arrived by helicopter in true Virgin style, while guests were transferred by ferry to and from Circular Quay.
