The $140-million Hilton Melbourne South Wharf hotel is on schedule for an April 2009 opening, with the final touches currently being added to the new 5-star property.
In an exclusive interview with SpiceNews at AIME ’09, general manager Michael Bourne said the property would offer meetings delegates a range of accommodation and dining options.
He also said forward bookings for the property were promising and the hotel is expecting significant flow-on business thanks to its location directly above the new Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), which is due to officially open on July 1, 2009.
