TFE Hotels’ Adina brand expands in WA

TFE currently has 13 hotels in the pipeline with three slated to open in Europe and ten in Australia over the next coming years.

TFE Hotels is set to expand the Adina brand to a third location in Greater Perth with the opening of Adina Apartment Hotel Fremantle.

The 142-room hotel, located near Fremantle’s historical portside waterfront hotel, is now under construction and is expected to open in the third quarter of 2024.

The property will feature a rooftop pool, lobby bar and cafe, gym, and meeting and events spaces, while its accommodation offering will include a mix of studios, one-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom apartments. The hotel’s interior design will incorporate local wool, celebrating Fremantle’s status as the second biggest wool producer in the world.

“With the Fremantle Docks about to undergo a Barangaroo-style refresh, this is a really exciting and strategic location for TFE,” TFE Hotels director of development, John Sutcliffe said.

“Conference guests will be well served as will cruise ship passengers when the nearby International Cruise terminal is completed.”

TFE currently has 13 hotels – equalling more than 2,000 keys – in the pipeline with three slated to open in Europe and ten in Australia over the next coming years, including a new Adina in Brisbane and A by Adina, and Collection properties in Melbourne.

“We’ve opened 17 hotels across the last two years across our Adina, Vibe and Travelodge brands and two new brands – A by Adina (Canberra and Sydney) and Quincy (Melbourne),” Sutcliffe said.

“Apartment hotels have really shown their versatility throughout the pandemic and our Adinas continue to hold wide appeal across a variety of markets.”

TFE expects to open its much-anticipated Adina Apartment Hotel Pentridge Melbourne in the back half of this year.

The project involves transformation of an historic prison site into a modern lifestyle precinct, complete with residential apartments, shopping, dining, outdoor cinema, events space and 125-key hotel.

“Although somewhat unconventional, the prison’s former chapel – with its beautiful lead-light windows and huge vaulted ceilings – has also been transformed into a function centre and will hold great appeal for MICE and Wedding markets looking for that one-of-a-kind experience,” TFE Hotels group chief operating officer, Chris Sedgwick said

“It’s these unique heritage features throughout the property and clever F&B concepts that we are excited to take to market in the near future.”

Meanwhile, the 18 storey, 123-room Vibe Hotel Adelaide will open in early 2023.

Part of the Flinders Street precinct which has been in development under Guava Lime over the last 10 years, the hotel’s design, by Loucas Zahos Architects, reflects the vibrant, inner-city community around it.

“Guestrooms will feature open-plan bathrooms and floor to ceiling windows will frame city views that extend all the way to the beautiful Adelaide Hills,” Sutcliffe said.

“It really is something special.”

In an Australian first, the property features a pool that connects Vibe Hotel Adelaide to the neighbouring One Apartments.
